Women’s Visitation

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” – Matthew 28:19-20

In addition to the general Monday night visitation, we have a special time each week specifically geared for women’s visitation. These visits help our women carry out the command of Matthew 28:19-20 during daylight hours while their children are in school, husbands are at work, or during a time when the responsibilities at home are lighter.

Preplanned and outlined visits are scheduled for Thursdays from 12:45 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Food Ministry

“…To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke…  to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house…” – Isaiah 58:6-7

Volunteers within the church help to provide meals for funeral dinners, new mothers, and families in times of crisis. Many also give their time in set-up and tear-down after church-wide dinners.

Letters of Love

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch  as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”  – 1Corinthians 15:58

Letters of Love is our greeting card ministry. It is designed to bring encouragement, enlightenment, peace, and joy to our church family through hand-made cards. Our ladies meet the last Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in one of their homes to design cards and hand-written letters filled with scriptural messages appropriate for the recipient.

Sewing Ministry – Hearts & Hands for Missions

Our ladies meet two Saturdays per month at 9:00 a.m. in the Church Library for the sewing ministry. The quilts are stitched or tied by talented volunteers and then donated to missionaries to be used in needy places of the world. Check the church calendar for meeting dates.

Moms-On-Call Program

The purpose of the Moms-on-Call Program is to assist new mothers in their new role as a mother and in all facets of care-giving in their home. This ministry educates and encourages new mothers by partnering each mother with an experienced mother and faithful member of Monclova Road Baptist Church. This Godly lady is committed to answering questions about mothering and offering encouragement through phone calls and visits.

New mothers may enter the program between the end of their eighth month of pregnancy and the month their child turns three years old. Mentoring moms should be successful mothers who can commit to “being on call” for six months.

Growing Together (Mentoring)

“The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”  – Titus 2:3-5

Growing Together is our women’s mentoring ministry. It is designed  for women of different generations to come alongside each other and nurture the souls of another by putting Titus 2:3-5 into practice. We desire to pair young believers with older, mature believers who can assist in spiritual growth and development, as well as educate in home-making skills and successful living, whether in singleness or marriage.
