Katie Exton
k.exton@monclovabaptist.org
Greetings! My name is Katie Exton and I am the kindergarten teacher at Monclova Christian
Academy. I graduated from the University of Toledo in 2006 with a B.S. in Early Childhood
Education. I am currently a graduate student there, working on my reading endorsement. I am
seeking God's will as to whether or not I should pursue a Master's degree in Administration or Early Childhood Education with a specialization in literacy. I am a CPR and First Aid instructor for the American Heart Association and a lifeguard the the West Toledo YMCA. Teaching here is truly a blessing. I can see little minds at work, absorbing everything I teach (most of the time). The greatest reward is teaching children about Christ. It is my goal to help students memorize the Word of God and understand the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Michelle Zeeb
m.zeeb@monclovabaptist.org
My parents are missionaries to Brazil and I spent most of my life there. I attended an international Christian school in Belem, Brazil from sixth through twelfth grade. I attended Cedarville College (now University) in Cedarville, OH, and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. Two years after graduation, I returned to my school in Brazil to teach Kindergarten. At that time I received an ACSI teaching certificate and after two years I came back to the United States and spent two years substitute teaching in Xenia Public Schools. In June of 2004 I was asked to return to A.V.A. and I spent two more years there teaching kindergarten and junior high World History. I came to the United States in June of 2006, trusting God to show me the next step in His will for me. A couple days after I arrived in the Dayton area, Pastor Merrin contacted me about a job at M.C.A. I came up for an interview and was hired within a couple weeks. I spent the 2006-2007 school year teaching first graders at M.C.A and this year I enjoy teaching my class of fourteen amazing students. I thank God for leading me here to MCA and for all the blessings He's given me.

Heidi Ross
h.ross@monclovabaptist.org

My name is Heidi Ross. I graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 2006 with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.  I am honored to be in my second year of teaching 2nd grade at MCA. My desire before and during college was always to return back to my home church, Monclova Road Baptist Church, and teach at MCA. Ever since I was in 1st grade, I knew that God was calling me to be a teacher. I cling to Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."  I love encouraging the children to grow in their walk with God and seeing the light click in their eyes when they finally grasp a concept that was previously challenging for them. It is never too early for a child to see that God can use them whether it's to reach the lost or pray for their friends.

Christian School in Grand Rapids, Ohio.  I attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South
Carolina, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and a minor in

For the last six years, I have stayed home with my three young children. Upon looking to buy a house in Ohio, I contacted Pastor Merrin who offered me the job of teaching third grade at Monclova Christian Academy.  It is an honor and a privilege to return to the teaching profession and work with the faculty, staff, and students of MCA.

My name is Daniel J. DeFriece.   I am the first of four children born in a pastor’s home.  I went to

Dorothy Thompson
mca@monclovabaptist.org
Mrs. Dorothy Thompson joined the staff at Monclova Christian Academy in February of 2000.  She has been the school secretary throughout the first nine years of the school’s existence, and currently serves as secretary to the principal, along with handling student records, state compliance records, etc.  Mrs. Thompson grew up in Swanton, Ohio, the third of seven children.  She and her husband, Slim, married in December, 1980.  They have raised five children and are the proud grandparents of sixteen.  They currently reside in Monclova township.  The Thompsons are very active with the ministries of Monclova Road Baptist Church, where they have been members since 1982.  Having been raised in a Christian home, Mrs. Thompson accepted Christ as her personal Saviour as a teenager during a Youth For Christ Rally.  Scripture and prayer play a vital role in the Thompson home, but the verse they prefer to live by is Joshua 24:15 - “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD”.
